The Editors of JBUON issue an Expression of Concern to 'Anticancer activity of safranal against colon carcinoma is due to induction of apoptosis and G2/M cell cycle arrest mediated by suppression of mTOR/PI3K/Akt pathway', by Yibing Zhang, Yong Zhao, Jianyou Guo, Haifeng Cui, Sha Liu, JBUON 2018;23(3):574-578; PMID:30003721. Following the publication of the above article, readers drew to our attention that part of the data was possibly unreliable. We sent emails to the authors with a request to provide the raw data to prove the originality, but received no reply.
