There has been a movement away from hormone replacement therapy in the last 10 years
since studies have shown they increase women's risk for cancer and other health issues.
Yet, women have NOT associated the same risks with the birth control pill even though
the pill contains the same artificial hormone progestin. New research now proves a definitive link
between the artificial hormone progestin and breast cancer.
The "Pill" has always been a controversial subject. The birth control pill has liberated
women from unwanted pregnancy yet, throughout Scandanavia and other parts of
Europe the NON-hormonal IUD continues to be the most popular type of birth control
method.
Learn about the definitive research connecting the artificial hormone progestin to
increased risks of breast cancer.

Women need all the information when it comes to the pills they are putting into their bodies. Today we have younger and younger women being diagnosed with breast cancer. We need to focus and learn more preventive strategies. Education truly does lead to empowerment. Now we have research which shows the artificial hormone progestin is a risk factor for breast cancer we need to give women the facts. We have an epidemic of young girls using the birth control pill for heavy menstrual cramps and acne, not prevention of pregnancy. It's time they be given all the information on these drugs. There are safe alternatives for period cramps, menopause symptoms and acne which are all reasons why women turn to these hormone therapies. It's time we women take control of our own bodies and learn how we can prevent breast cancer and other deadly diseases. Let's spread the idea that in prevention we have power.
