The Healthy Breasts Diet: 6 Nutritional Tips to Help Prevent Breast Cancer

Views 74

The wealth of information out there about foods, chemicals, types of genetics and even states of mind that can possibly cause cancer is enough to bring even a relatively healthy person down. That is why I am pleasantly surprised to see how many people are also talking about the positive aspects of diet, especially when it comes to Breast Cancer. In my coaching around the world as part of “The 7 Essentials System™” for healing the body naturally, I have found that the following 6 steps for daily Breast Cancer prevention are easy-to-follow but extremely powerful:

1.) Take a cue from other cultures when determining alternative methods for preventing Breast Cancer through nutrition. For instance, women in Asian countries have lower instances of Breast Cancer than women in Europe and America. This is leading some doctors to focus on the diets of Asian countries for possible cancer prevention. Research into certain “ethnic” spices such as turmeric is discovering their powerful anti-inflammatory and healing properties. As you are putting together your own anti-cancer nutritional plan, do some research into Japanese, Indian and even Mediterranean ways of eating. Just for fun, look into your own heritage for nutritious options and even folk remedies. Examples abound in every culture, but it is true that some cultures continue to enjoy longer life and more vital health than others. What gives them the advantage? The good news about living in these modern times is that you have all the information you need at your fingertips and can pick and choose a diverse nutritional plan that works best for you.

2.) Take a dose of vitamin B12 every day. B12 is involved in almost every cellular system in the body. It is crucial to life; over 300 enzymatic reactions use this vitamin in some way. Deficiencies, on the other hand, have led to nerve damage and, more seriously, anemia. B12 is found in a variety of foods such as fish, meats and dairy products. You can also buy B12 capsules or liquid at your local natural foods store, but make sure you get methyl-cobalamin and not the cyano-cobalamin B12.

3.) Increase your intake of cruciferous vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. These foods contain a photochemical called Sulforaphane that increases Phase 2 enzymes that detox cancer-forming chemicals in the body. There has been some success in scientific laboratories using Sulforaphane to prevent Breast Cancer, and more clinical trials are currently underway.

4.) Drink 8 ounces or more of green tea each day. In cultures where there is a high consumption of green tea, there is also a low incidence of Breast Cancer. EGCG (or epigallocatechin-3), naturally found in green tea, is an active compound. When administered to a cancer patient, it has been found to stop cancer cells from growing. Replication is ceased and the cells simply die. Matcha tea has over 100 times more EGCG than regular green tea.

5.)  Supplement your diet with a methyl form of folic acid. DNA relies on folic acid for its creation and repair. Studies have shown that taking an increased dose of folic acid can greatly reduce your chances of Breast Cancer. In addition, an increase in folic acid has been known to help offset the raised risk of Breast Cancer in women who drink more than one alcoholic beverage a day.

6.)  Add Medicinal Mushrooms to your diet. Medicinal Mushrooms have been used for thousands of years in some cultures for their health benefits. A compound called “D-fraction,” found in Maitake, for example, has been proven to stop cancerous cells from growing. In addition, it has also been shown to stimulate immune cells which help fight the disease. Many mushrooms, such as Chaga, Turkey Tail and Maitake, are now available in capsule form for easy supplementation.

As you can see, taking simple steps such as drinking organic green tea every day and supplementing with the correct nutrients can have a very protective effect and could help you prevent Breast Cancer, or any other dis-ease for that matter. The steps are not hard, but the important part is to make them a consistent part of your routine every day.
