Stop forced HPV vaccines in children in Florida

Two bills, forcing HPV vaccines on children, have been filed in the state of Florida. Your help is needed to oppose these bills and stop forced vaccination.

[Florida NVIC Advocacy Team Update & Action Guidelines]

Thank you to everyone who contacted their legislators to oppose the forced vaccine tracking bills SB 1680 and HB 1045 this past week.  Unfortunately, both of those bills passed their committee hearings and are moving on to other committees.  Updates have been posted on the NVIC Advocacy Portal and we will get you an update on what the next steps are in this fight against these two bills soon.

In the meantime, two more bills, forcing HPV vaccines on all children have also been filed: SB 1558 and HB 1343 and we need your help contacting your legislators to oppose these bills.  Please follow the action alert below and share it with friends and family.

Florida, your parental authority and medical privacy are under attack by certain legislators and we need to prevent these bills from passing.  Your efforts are appreciated and very needed.

Sincerely,

NVIC Advocacy Team

STOP FORCED HPV VACCINATIONS IN FLORIDA CHILDREN: OPPOSE SB 1558 and HB 1343

Your action is needed to help stop the State of Florida from mandating HPV (human papillomavirus) Vaccines for all school children, girls and boys.

SB 1558 and HB 1343, bills that would mandate HPV Vaccines for school children, have been filed.  HB 1343 was referred to the Health Quality Subcommittee; Education Committee and Health and Human Services Committee.  SB 1558 was referred to Senate Health Policy; Children, Families, and Elder Affairs and Rules Committees.

While hearings dates for these bills have not been posted as of 1/27/2018, the Florida Legislation Session is short and moves very quickly so we are asking you take the following action now:

ACTION NEEDED:

1) Contact Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez, sponsor of SB 1558 and ask him to withdraw his bill, SB 1558.  Tell him you don’t think he should be forcing your child to get this vaccine and why.  Florida doesn’t have a conscientious exemption.

2) Contact Representative Amy Mercado, sponsor of HB 1343 and ask her to withdraw her bill, HB 1343.  Tell her you don’t think she should be forcing your child to get this vaccine and why.  Florida doesn’t have a conscientious exemption.

3) CALL and EMAIL your Florida State Senator and Representative and ask them to OPPOSE SB 1558 and HB 1343.  Tell them DO NOT become a co-sponsor. If you do not know who your Florida State Senator and Representative are or their contact information, you can login to the NVIC Advocacy Portal, click on the “State Teams” tab and then “My State,” and your elected officials are automatically posted on the right hand side of the page https://nvicadvocacy.org/members/Home.aspx . You can also use this search engines below to find your Florida legislators - http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Representatives/myrepresentative.aspx

4)If you have extra time to help, the members of the following committees need to hear your request for them to vote NO on these bills:
HB 1343 - Health Quality Subcommittee; Education Committee and Health and Human Services Committee (https://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Committees/committees.aspx )
SB 1558 - Senate Health Policy; Children, Families, and Elder Affairs and Rules Committees (https://www.flsenate.gov/Committees)

5)Login often to the NVIC Advocacy Portal for updates.  Be ready to contact committee members and attend committee hearings when they are scheduled for these bills. https://nvicadvocacy.org/members/Home.aspx

6)Please forward this post to family and friends and ask them to register for the NVIC Advocacy Portal and share their concerns with their legislators as well.

TALKING POINTS:

  1. Parents have a right to make healthcare decisions for their children. These legislators should not be doing this for them by forcing this vaccine. The HPV vaccine is already available to any family who wants it.  It does NOT need to be forced by law on every child.
  2. All state legislatures but one have REJECTED HPV vaccine statewide mandates.  The Virginia legislature passed a bill in 2008 requiring school girls to be vaccinated, but there is a broad exemption everyone can take. Rhode Island’s health department circumvented the legislature and abused it’s rule making authority and mandated by rule.  The District of Columbia mandates HPV vaccine. All other attempts to mandate the HPV vaccine have FAILED
  3. There is NO medical emergency in Florida to merit mandating the HPV vaccine!  HPV is sexually transmitted.  It is NOT casually communicable or spread in a school setting.
  4. Vaccines Carry a Risk of Harm. Vaccines are pharmaceutical products that carry a risk of injury or death, a fact that was acknowledged by the U.S. Congress in 1986 when it passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. Since 1988, the federal vaccine injury compensation program created under that law has awarded over 3.8 billion dollars to children and adults injured by vaccines or to families whose loved ones died from vaccine reactions. In 2011, the US Supreme Court ruled that ALL vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe.”
  5. HPV Vaccines are associated with too many injuries and deaths to ignore. Using the MedAlerts search engine, as of May 31, 2017:
    • There were a total of 57,520 vaccine reaction reports made to the federal Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) associated with Gardasil HPV vaccinations, including 271 deaths.
    • There were a total of 3,579 vaccine adverse reaction reports made to VAERS associated with Cervarix HPV vaccinations, including 17 deaths.  Serious reactions included unexplained collapse, muscle pain and weakness, disabling fatigue, paralysis, brain inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, blood clots, multiple sclerosis, optic neuritis, spontaneous abortions, strokes, cardiac issues, seizures/convulsions, and many other health problems.  (VAERS reporting is voluntary and it receives reports for only a small fraction of actual adverse events.)
  6. With over 200 strains, HPV is the most common STD in the US.  HPV infection is experienced by the majority of sexually active women and men without symptoms and is naturally cleared from the body within two years by more than 90 %of those who become infected. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) conveniently fail to tell people on their HPV Vaccine Information For Young Women page that the current vaccines like Gardasil 9 only cover at MOST 9 strains
  7. After Pap test screening became a routine part of health care for American women in the 1960’s, cervical cancer cases in the U.S. dropped 74 percent and continued Pap testing is recommended whether women do or do not get HPV vaccinations.
  8. The risk of cervical cancer is significantly more for certain elective behaviors.  Women who smoke are twice as likely as non-smokers to get cervical cancer.  The long-term use of hormonal birth control increases the risk of getting cervical cancer.  It doesn’t make sense to force all to risk dangerous and potentially fatal reactions to the vaccine.
  9. Several countries removed HPV from their recommended schedule, and France, India, Japan, and Spain have each filed criminal charges against HPV vaccine manufacturers for fraud, safety issues, and providing misleading information.
  10. In the study “Death After Quadrivalent HPV Vaccination: Causal or Coincidental?” Neuroscientist Dr. Chris Shaw and Biochemist Dr. Lucija Tomljenovic concluded that HPV vaccines “pose an inherent risk for triggering potentially fatal” adverse reactions by causing acute autoimmunity.
